For most web sites, particularly commercial web sites, the goal is to get more visitors to your web site. Analyzing your Acestats reports on a regular basis will provide you with valuable information about the quality of your web traffic. Here are some suggested ways of analyzing your Acestats reports:
- Look at trends over a period of time - Have your visitor numbers increased or decreased? If your unique visitors and sales are decreasing in the same time period, it is an indication that something is wrong - you may wish to take action.
- Regularly check the search engine reports - Search engines are the most powerful referrers that you can have, and Acestats enables you to see exactly which engines are sending traffic to your site. If you employ a SEO company you can analyze the results of their efforts. Are they targeting specific key words or phrases? Can you see an increase from visitors who have used those keywords or phrases with search engines to find you?
- Use the Excel function - Many of the Acestats reports can be downloaded into Excel files. You can accumulate this data over time for later analysis. Once in Excel, you can manipulate the data in a wide variety of ways. For example, you can select the exact date range for a recent marketing campaign, or the date that your advertisement appeared in a magazine, or the weekend that you attended an exhibition and handed out brochures and business cards.
- Check your visitor totals during a marketing campaign - Compare different marketing campaigns, using a variety of different Acestats reports, to see which was the most effective.
- Check country and time zone reports - If your product or service is more suitable for a specific region, you need to regularly check your country and time zone reports. Looking at these reports may help you determine if your marketing should be directed to more specific regions.

You can use Acestats to track the usage of important links. In order to track links, modify the HTML code in your pages as follows:
1. Create your link as per usual. For this example, the link is:
<a href="shop.html"> Online Shopping </a>
2. Add code to the link so that our example now looks like this:
<a href="shop.html" onClick="window.open('http://acestats.net/linktracker.php?url_id=SITE_NUMBER&link=LINK_NAME','link','left=2000,top=2000')">Online Shopping </a>
Key:
* shop.html - The location of the linked web page.
* SITE_NUMBER - Your Acestats web site number.
* LINK_NAME - The name you have chosen for the link. Do not include spaces in the name.
* Online Shopping - The description of the link on the web page.
We recommend that you only use this code to track your most important links, as adding it to all the links in your web site will make it more difficult to view meaningful link tracking statistics.
