Is
this service really free?
|

Yes, almost. We provide
free tracking services for a trial
period of two weeks after which you
are prompted to sign up for an Executive
Account. The Executive account includes more features and reports and costs only £6/month for upto 20,000 page views. The Executive account allows you to track up to 3 separate web sites and view the reports for each web site via your members control panel. |

| How
do I sign up? |
|
Signing up is simple.
Just select the "signup"
option from the menu above and follow
the prompts. Accounts are created
instantly, so there is no "waiting
around time".

| What's
my username and password? |
|
When you sign up
you're able to choose your username
and your password. Your account information
is mailed to you immediately if your
account is created successfully. If
you want to change your password,
you can do so from the members control
panel (just log in).

| I've
lost my username and password, now what? |
|
No problem. You can
click on User Id / Password link provided
on almost each page, just below the
login box. After answering a few questions,
your password will be sent to your
email address, immediately.

| What
files do I need? |
| None. All of the software
is hosted on our servers. |

| How
do I view my statistics? |
| Just login to your account
and select the "Reports" option. |
|
| How long will it be before I will be able to use this service after I've signed up? |
| After signing up for the trial account you can login to your members panel straight away! Simply copy and paste the small snippet of code, from the 'Code' section in the members panel, into any of your web pages that you want to track. The statistics are reported in real time so you will be able to view your reports immediately and see where your visitors are coming from. |

| How do I install the code? |
| You will need to add the Acestats code into all of your web pages (immediately above the /body tag) that you wish to track.
If you used a web site creation program such as Frontpage to create your web site originally then you can add the code to the pages via that and then republish. If you have access to your web site on the server via an online file manager or similar then you can edit each page on the server and add the code directly.
If you have no experience with editting web pages then you may wish to ask your web designer or an experienced colleague to add the code for you. |

| What happens if cookies are not enabled in my visitors' browsers? |
| If cookies are not enabled in the visitors browser or the privacy setting is above 'Low' then Acestats uses the visitor IP address to determine the session. Relying on the visitors cookie setting alone may result in many page views being inaccurately recorded as new sessions and therefore compromising the integrity of the data. |

| Why does the graph sometimes not appear in a report? |
| A graph is not drawn when a single day is selected for the daily and weekly reports - resolution : select a date range. A graph might not be drawn when there is very little data available - this is resolved once there have been one or two more visitors to the site. |
|
| Why is the average page duration very high? |
| If a visitor leaves the web page open in their browser for a long period of time this may distort the average page duration figures. |
